MP demands urgent meeting on waste dump

April 30, 2006 4:00 PM

David Howarth, MP for Cambridge, has organised an emergency meeting about the unauthorized waste disposal site at Long Acre Farm, Milton.

Several constituents have contacted Mr Howarth about the site which is causing large amounts of disturbance by lorries in the early hours of the morning.

Mr Howarth commented:

"Several local residents have spoken to me about the disturbance caused by this waste disposal site. On the 11th April alone there were no fewer than 56 lorry journeys to the site.

"Retrospective planning permission has already been turned down but nothing has been done.

"I have called this meeting because the disturbance has gone on for long enough and action needs to be taken."

The meeting will be held on Friday 19 May.
