Iraq announcement 'too little too late'

October 3, 2007 11:00 AM

Cambridge MP David Howarth has described plans to withdraw a few troops from Iraq as 'too little too late'.

Gordon Brown announced that 4500 British troops would remain in Iraq today. Mr Howarth responded by calling for a complete withdrawal of all British troops. He said:

"Today's announcement is too little too late. Gordon Brown is keeping 4500 troops fighting a war we should never have started in Iraq.
