Huppert on Parliamentary Bike Ride

Julian heads off across central London supporting the All Party Parliamentary Bike Ride.

MP Julian Huppert joined Olympic and World Champion cyclist, Victoria Pendleton for a three mile bike ride across central London yesterday morning (Wednesday).

Victoria launched the annual All Party Parliamentary Bike Ride from Victoria to Westminster which called in at the Churchill Primary School in Pimlico where the youngsters were taking part in Bikeability cycle training.

Julian had borrowed a folding Brompton bike for the occasion, which was supported by MPs and peers and held ahead of Green Britain Day today (Thursday) and a few days before National Bike Week.

"Cycling is a great way to get across London," said Julian. "It not only keeps you fit and cuts your carbon footprint but it saves money at the same time.

"I hope the event will encourage more people out of their cars and onto two wheels, reducing congestion and pollution."
