Dear fellow Romsey resident,
Earlier in the year, the Local Government Boundary Commission (LGBC) proposed to cut Romsey in half, by moving you and your neighbours into another ward.
The LGBC have released a second draft which places Coldhams Common back into Romsey, and are now asking which of the two drafts constituents of Cambridge prefer.
Please write to the LGBC and tell them you want to keep Romsey united and strong.
Your representation will have more weight if you give reasons why the Romsey northern boundary should stay where it is. The Commission say they don’t want to break up established communities, and Romsey is a prime example for such a case.
You can send your objections to Romsey being split by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by visiting the Commission's website www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk.
Alternatively, you can write to Local Government Boundary Commission for England, 3rd Floor, Layden House, 76-86 Turnmill Street, London EC1M 5LG.
You can read more about it on my blog, here.
With best wishes,
Liberal Democrat City Councillor for Romsey.
P.S. Only your say will influence the LGBC’s decision on this crucial local issue. We are half-way there in our fight. Please write in to save Romsey!
