Scouts Get New Lease of Life

10.31.58pm GMT Wed 9th Mar 2005

The 29th Scout Group in Abbey will not lose their land thanks to a decision by city Lib Dems. "Whatever they have been told, I can assure the scouts that Cambridge City Council will offer them the chance to renew their lease", says Cllr Jennifer Liddle, the Executive Councillor whose portfolio this comes under.

"The scouts do such good work with our young people, so I am glad to be able to give them this reassurance", says Cllr Liddle.

"After visiting them and talking to the scout leaders I was very impressed with the work they are doing for the local community, and am happy to offer them a renewal on their lease", says the councillor who used to help out at her local scout group.
