City Council's disappointment at Parson's Court closure

9.00.00am GMT Fri 24th Mar 2006

Executive City Councillor for Community Development and Leisure, Joye Rosenstiel, has today expressed her disappointment that the older person's centre at Parson's Court is to close.

Age Concern have decided to close the Centre and have been seeking advice from Cambridge City Council for alternative venues.

Cllr Joye Rosenstiel commented:

"Its very disappointing to hear that Parson's Court will be closing. The City Council had hoped that there could be a tripartite partnership to providing the funding Age Concern are looking for.

"The City's money is still on the table and I look forward to continuing to work with Age Concern to develop some concrete plans for providing good services for older residents in Cambridge"
