Lib Dem councillors make green pledge11.26.07am GMT Mon 5th Jun 2006 Liberal Democrat County Councillor, Julian Huppert, has made a pledge to do his bit to help the environment today on World Environment Day. The Environment Agency is asking everyone to make one of ten pledges to save our environment. Coun Huppert is one of several Liberal Democrat councillors in Cambridgeshire who have taken the Environment Agency's Green Pledges. County Councillor for Brampton, Peter Downes, County Councillor for Romsey, Alice Douglas, and Cambridge City Councillor for Market, Colin Rosenstiel, have also signed up to pledges to save water, share transport to work and pay back the environmental cost of air travel among other pledges. Coun Huppert said: "We all have a role to play in helping to combat climate change and so I encourage everyone to do their bit and make a green pledge. "If everyone was to make a small pledge, such turning the tap off when brushing your teeth or to dry your washing on the line rather than in the tumble dryer, together we can make a huge difference."
