New garden blooms for Brandon Court residents

10.22.34am GMT Mon 12th Jun 2006

David Howarth, MP for Cambridge, has officially opened the new garden at the Brandon Court sheltered housing scheme.

The new garden is the brainchild of Brandon Court residents. It has come to life over the past few months thanks to help from the City Council, individuals and commercial firms which have given up their time, skills and made donations of plants to create the new space.

Mr. Howarth commented:

"It's a pleasure to be invited to open this new garden and to see the hard work put in by residents here at Brandon Court. The new garden is a beautiful community space that will be a great resource for residents here for years to come."

Graham Watts, Director of City Services at Cambridge City Council, said:

"The new garden is a haven for plant lovers and birds and a complete transformation from the way that the garden looked before."
