10.20.19am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 6th Aug 2007

Recyclers in Cambridge can now go on-line to find out where to dispose of goods like textile, books or other recyclable waste.

Cambridge City Council has launched an interactive recycling map of the city showing resident where they can find their nearest recycling centre and what goods can be left there.

Executive City Councillor for Environmental and Waste Services, Colin Rosenstiel, commented:

"We want to make it easier for people in Cambridge to recycle their household waste. Many goods, including plastic bottles, glass, paper and food waste are collected by the Council directly from the residents but we also run dozens of community recycling centres across the city.

"The Recycling Map, launched this week, will make these centres easy to find for both residents and visitors."
