TORIES BUILDING DODGY DOSSIER FOR CONGESTION CHARGING - COUNTY12.00.00am GMT Thu 6th Mar 2008 Figures used by the Tory administration in their dossier on congestion were found to be outdated and irrelevant. According to so-called 'new' figures, the Tory administration at Cambridgeshire County Council claimed that City residents were 'causing congestion'. However, it quickly transpired that these numbers were from 2006 on days when the A14 and M11 were closed and there were significant road works on Milton Road. County Councillor Rupert Moss-Eccardt commented: "I did not recall any recent surveys on the parts of the Ring Road that run through my ward. I am surprised that the administration has the gall to call these figures new. Next they'll claim they can deploy a Guided Bus in 45 minutes. They are just clutching at straws". ENDS Notes to Editors 1. The surveys were done in October 2006 between the 3rd and 12th. The A14 and M11 were closed on the 10th.
