Don’t leave West Chesterton in the dark

As you may have heard, the County Council have put forward controversial proposals to switch off street lights in many residential areas between midnight and 6am across Cambridge.

Dear fellow local resident,

As you may have heard, the County Council have put forward controversial proposals to switch off street lights in many residential areas between midnight and 6am across Cambridge.

The Liberal Democrats fear this will put residents’ safety at risk and are fighting to stop the switch off.

If, like me, you would rather see street lights kept on or dimmed during these hours, please sign our online petition at: www.cambridgelibdems.org.uk/save-our-street-lights.

Many West Chesterton residents walk or cycle around the city during the early hours, and I’m determined to ensure they remain safe while doing so.

If you have any questions or queries regarding the street lights campaign, or any other local issue, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,

Ysanne Austin
Liberal Democrat City Councillor for West Chesterton

P.S. The Liberal Democrats are fighting to keep residents safe by opposing the lights switch off across Cambridge. Please join our fight and sign the petition.
