Why I voted for the ban on smoking in cars carrying children

This evening MPs have voted to ban smoking in cars which are carrying children. I was amongst those who voted in favour of the ban.
Over the past few days, it has been very encouraging to receive a huge number of e-mails and tweets from constituents who have expressed their views on the proposal, and I am grateful to those of you who have taken the time to get in touch.
