Standing up to anti-social driving

Right across Cambridge, residents are sick and tired of deafeningly loud cars and motorbikes treating our roads as if they were their own personal race-track.

These drivers are creating a deeply unpleasant living environment, as well as putting others at risk - especially young children and the elderly.

Time and time again, we hear from people on the doorsteps who say they feel like nothing can or will be done - they have no hope that this issue can be tackled. The Lib Dems believe that simply isn't good enough.

We're calling on the City Council to bring together the Highways Authority and the Police to put together a strategy to tackle anti-social driving - initially including more police attention but with the possibility for more innovative solutions too. In London, the police are using noise-detecting cameras to catch some of the worst offenders - we need to be looking at solutions like this and others, and to take some action for the sake of residents across our city.

Please sign our petition below to call on the City Council to finally put together a strategy for tackling anti-social driving.
