The Citi 5 and 6 bus routes were cut by Stagecoach in January, halving the number of buses from the city centre to Girton Corner from 4 to 2 an hour.
Thanks to public pressure, Stagecoach have agreed to restore some of the city 6 services, and a new service, the 5F, will run a few peak hour services from Cambridge to Bar Hill via the Crematorium. These new routes will be introduced from Sunday 5th June.
However, this still leaves only 2 buses an hour running along Huntingdon Road when it used to be 6!

Cllr Cheney Payne said: “Cambridge bus system is notoriously poor, with many services being cut and not running to time. This makes it harder for people to get out of their cars, and to use greener transport as a routine. It is disappointing to see such weak leadership over our buses, and even more to see Stagecoach taking advantage of this, and reducing services when they should be increasing them.”
