Re: Consultation on the ‘Chisholm Trail’
The consultation on the ‘Chisholm Trail’ will run until Monday, 30 November 2015. The proposed Trail is a largely off-road foot and cycleway, linking the north and the south of Cambridge. Please get in touch with your feedback.
The proposed route of the ‘Chisholm Trail’ runs from the site of the planned new railway station in the north of Cambridge via a bridge, alongside Ditton Meadows and near the Leper Chapel, before going under Newmarket Road, close to Abbey Stadium, and across Coldham’s Common.
The Trail follows the railway line. On the Northern side the route traverses the bridge on Coldhams Lane, the Retail Park and Beehive Centre and York Street, Ainsworth Street and Hooper Street. On the Southern side the route goes via Cromwell Road or Brampton Road and the planned Ridgeons’ development. Northern and Southern routes continue on both sides of the railway line through the unused arches of Mill Road bridge and alongside the railway line to Cambridge Station.
More detail about the Trail can be found at: http://www.gccitydeal.co.uk/citydeal/info/2/transport/1/transport/6?utm_source=stakeholder&utm_campaign=chisholmtrail
This ambitious project is dependent on the support and goodwill of a number of landowners including Network Rail, Cambridge Past, Present and Future and Gonville and Caius College.
The consultation will be advertised extensively to the public and stakeholders. Promotion will include: leaflets and questionnaires delivered to homes and businesses in areas along the route; posters; press releases to local and regional media; online information and web version of the questionnaire; social media; workplace email lists and parent mail. There will be information at local venues in Cambridge and libraries near the route during November.
We will hold several events where Project Officers will be available to answer questions about the project. The events are as follows:

|Wed 11 Nov||18:30 – 20:30||Abbey Stadium|
