As you may have heard, the Economy and Environment Committee of the County Council has approved the Chisholm Trail bridge over the Cam to move to a formal planning application. This is an important new walking and cycling bridge over the river, linking Abbey and Chesterton next to the railway bridge, and is a key part of the proposed Chisholm Trail cycling route from Addenbrooke's to the Science Park.
The committee decided on a mix of options 1 and 2 for the design of the bridge, featuring a bench along the route. More information on the various options and background on the bridge are on the County Council website.
However, the bridge is only a small part of the Chisholm Trail - the City Council is currently running a public consultation on the proposed route, and you can read more information about the proposed trail on the City Council website.
