Cllr Nichola Harrison

I have been the county councillor in Market ward for the last four years, and was first elected in Cambridge, as a city councillor, in 1999. Over this period I have always tried to balance my focus between local, every day issues like the ever more difficult task of getting the county council to keep the streets and pavements in good repair, and the longer term citywide issues such as creating a more sustainable, less car dominated transport system and pushing for high architectural and environmental standards in the city's many new developments large and small.

Market is a fascinating and important part of the city, containing not only the whole range of city centre and university activities, but also our precious communities of local residents, many of whom know more about the area than a councillor ever could. It's a great privilege to work with so many of you to try and protect our local area and make it even better.
