David Howarth, Liberal Democrat Energy Spokesperson, has described the Government's plan to cut funding to energy efficiency schemes to pay for their Renewable Energy Fun as "outrageous".
The Government announced a £10 million fund to help encourage renewable energy but the BBC has now revealed that this will be paid for by cutting funds to energy efficiency projects.
Mr. Howarth commented:
Energy Spokesperson David Howarth MP
"This is outrageous. Both energy efficiency and greater use of renewables are crucial to combating climate change. By robbing Peter to pay Paul, the Government is proving that it is not serious about reducing Britain's carbon emissions. "
