Lib Dem County Councillor for Queen Edith's, Geoff Heathcock, is again calling for BT to light up a Queen Edith's telephone box after 3 months of complaints and BT errors.
Coun Heathcock first alerted the telephone company to the broken unlit Payphone kiosk back in August. There has since followed a catalogue of errors by the company, on several occasions wrongly telling Coun Heathcock that the kiosk had been repaired, once sending an engineer to the wrong address and then claiming that because the kiosk was no longer used (since the blackout), they would no longer be connecting power to the Payphone. Since then Coun Heathcock has continued to raise the issue with BT, who have so far only responded by passing his complaint along to another manager.
Coun Heathcock commented:
"BT says that it's good to talk but why won't they talk to the residents of Queen Edith's? I have been contacting them about this issue for over 3 months and yet nothing has happened.
Councillor Geoff Heathcock
"The company has made error after error and has failed to either fix the problem or to respond properly to requests by myself and local residents. Its just not good enough."
