Lib Dems in Cambridge have reacted angrily to the County Council's decision to scrap consultation on bus services in Cambridge.
The Conservative-run County Council has decided to abolish the Cambridge Bus Development Board and the Bus Strategy Reference Group without discussion with Cambridge City Council.
Executive City Councillor for Planning and Transport, Sian Reid, commented:
"Cambridge is growing fast and so it is essential that we put improving public transport at the top of our transport agenda. Without proper investment in public transport and improving facilities for walkers and cyclists, the city will struggle under the weight of increased traffic.
"I am just appalled that the County Council has chosen this time to abolish communication links between the two councils on bus services in Cambridge. Now is the time to improve cooperation in order to bring about better public transport for Cambridge residents."

Councillor Sian Reid has tabled a motion to be debated at the Annual Meeting of Cambridge City Council on this matter.
