Cambridge MP David Howarth has been appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Justice in party leader Nick Clegg's front-bench team for the next General Election.
Mr Howarth said: "I am delighted to accept this appointment and join a front bench of able politicians who I believe will lead us to achieve great successes in the next General Election."
Making the announcement yesterday (Thursday) Nick Clegg said he was "proud to lead the best front-bench team in British politics, a team which has consistently been ahead of the curve on the big debates that matter to the British people."
He added: "This team leaves the Liberal Democrats well placed to take the fight to both Labour and the Conservatives in the run-up to the General Election and to bring about the change that Britain needs."
