Cambridge Canoe Club is to receive £35,000 of developers' cash to extend its clubhouse at Sheep's Green.

And a further £30,000 of Section 106 money will help to build a £90,000 climbing wall at Kelsey Kerridge.

The money will be given by Cambridge City Council which collected it from developers building new homes in the city.

The Canoe Club is planning a £210,000 extension to its club house to meet the needs of its increased membership and to cater for disabled people. The extension will include new changing rooms and toilets.

Cambridge City Executive Councillor for Arts and Recreation, Rod Cantrill: "I am delighted that we have been able to use this money for these exciting new projects. Hopefully they will bring a great deal of pleasure for years to come."
