Cambridge MP Julian Huppert has been praised by Papworth Hospital Chief Executive, Stephen Bridge for the work he has undertaken to secure the £165 million move to the city’s Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Julian took the concerns of Papworth Hospital to the heart of government after fears that the Treasury might block the move.
Mr Bridge said: “We are extremely grateful for all Julian’s support on this complex issue.”
Julian said: “The work to secure this deal has been very worth it. It puts the future of Papworth Hospital on a firm footing for the future giving patients the first class treatment they deserve and it brings huge benefits for Cambridge.
“I was delighted to be in a position to help and I look forward to welcoming the staff at Papworth Hospital to their new site in Cambridge.”
