Scrap the planning reforms

The planning reforms put forward by the Conservative Government would take away your right to have a say on new developments in your area.

The changes - branded a ‘developers’ charter’ - mean developers could go ahead with new housing schemes without providing extra facilities and services - or local people getting the chance to object.

We clearly need more affordable homes in Cambridge - and we need more sustainable development. But the idea that less local democractic input will fix these problems is ridiculous.

Nationally, the Lib Dems are opposing these changes. We believe the proposals could put green space under threat - and mean less of the affordable housing or facilities that places like Cambridge need.
