    County Council boundary changes

    Over the last few months, the Boundary Commission has been reviewing the boundaries for the wards in Cambridgeshire. A few weeks ago, the commission produced their final recommendations, which can be seen here.

    City Deal cycling improvements consultation

    As part of the Greater Cambridge City Deal, £200,000 has been set aside for minor improvements to the cycle network in the city. As part of this work, 5 projects have been selected for funding across the city, and the City Deal are running a consultation on the proposed projects.

    A14 communication survey

    As you may know, the Highways Agency is planning a long-needed upgrade to the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon. This would effectively re-route the A14 south of Huntingdon and Godmanchester, along with improvements to several junctions and widening of most of the existing A14 - detailed information and maps can be found on the Highways Agency website.

    Streetlights protest at the Guildhall

    On Saturday we took part in a protest at the Guildhall, organised by CSLD, against the proposed switchoff of Cambridge's streetlights at night. We got a really good response from people in the city, and collected many signatures for our petition (which you can sign online here).

    Chisholm Trail update

    As you may have heard, the Economy and Environment Committee of the County Council has approved the Chisholm Trail bridge over the Cam to move to a formal planning application. This is an important new walking and cycling bridge over the river, linking Abbey and Chesterton next to the railway bridge, and is a key part of the proposed Chisholm Trail cycling route from Addenbrooke's to the Science Park.

    Cambridge steetlights survey

    The County Council are proposing to turn off most of the streetlights in Cambridge between 12am and 6am, and are asking for residents' views on the plans. In Coleridge, this will affect every road apart from Cherry Hinton Road, Coleridge Road, Perne Road, sections of Radegund Road, and the junction of Davy and Rustat Roads.

    East Area Committee 29th October

    The East Area Committee is a key committee for local residents, where they can talk to and raise issues directly with ward councillors. The EAC is comprised of the City and County Councillors from Abbey, Romsey, Coleridge, and Petersfield wards, and meets quarterly to decide on issues affecting the wards directly.     Radegund Road Survey Results

    Thank you for responding to our survey last month and for all the issues you raised and suggestions for improvement.

     

    Overall there was a good response to the survey, with most responses coming from residents living on Radegund Road itself. Generally, there was agreement in people’s responses as to the issues facing the road, but varying opinions to the possible solutions.
