Ten of Cambridge’s finest independent traders are going head-to-head to find the overall winner of MP Julian Huppert’s Discovering Cambridge competition.

Voting has started to select the business Julian will crown as the overall winner of the competition at the city’s Mill Road Winter Fair on December 7.

The businesses won the monthly heats of Julian’s competition after being chosen by shoppers who valued the diverse range of goods and services they brought to the city.

Now those businesses, chosen from the many popular pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops nominated for the competition, are taking part in a poll to find the most popular.

Julian said: “This competition has been a great success. I have enjoyed exploring our independent businesses and meeting the enthusiastic and dedicated teams who contribute to their success.

“We have had a huge amount of interest from the public and it’s clear that our residents and visitors really value the diverse range of independent businesses that make Cambridge so special.

“I hope everyone will take the opportunity to vote for his or her favourite and I look forward to finding out which business will take the overall title.”
