Abandon the West Fields development proposal!

151 of 500 signatures

We call on the University of Cambridge and four of its colleges to abandon their plans for a 2800-home development on the West Fields, North of Barton Road.

This site has consistently been proven as unsuitable for development—not least due to it being on a flood plain—with local residents already experiencing unmanageable flooding. Nothing has been presented that would mitigate this—and that’s before discussing heritage, the capacity of local roads and services, and wider aspects of sustainability. There are more suitable and sustainable sites for development in and around Cambridge.
