Stop the Vagrancy Act 2.0

MPs are debating the Criminal Justice Bill 2023 and it includes measures that could see homeless people sentenced to up to a month in prison for ‘nuisance rough sleeping.’

The UK Government should support amendments to the Criminal Justice Bill which prevent the criminalisation of rough sleeping, and it should immediately repeal the Vagrancy Act 1824 by completing its removal from the statute books
