Philippa and David at the Lime Avenue pedestrian crossing

Improving Road Safety at Lime Avenue

County Councillor Philippa Slatter and David Levien have been discussing ways of improving safety for cyclists and pedestrians crossing Lime Avenue with residents, teachers and council road safety officers.

Vehicles often drive too fast and don’t realise there is an important crossing place by Henty Close. This busy cycle/footpath is an important safe route to school for local young people and a link to Addenbrookes and the busway for the rest of Trumpington and beyond. This will be even more important when Cambridge South Station opens

After considering various options, we are campaigning for a zebra crossing. If you agree, please support this proposal by signing our petition at the link below:

A Zebra Crossing for Lime Avenue

We the undersigned strongly support the proposal to install a zebra crossing across the southern end of Lime Avenue in Trumpington to create a safe west-east active travel route linking residential areas to schools, colleges, the busway, the Cambridge Biomedical campus and Cambridge South station.
