EXCITEMENT DASHED OVER FRESH CAMBRIDGE SOUTH STATION DELAY
Cllr Olaf Hauk, Lib Dem City Councillor for Trumpington Ward, where the station is located, issued the following statement in response to the delay in opening the Cambridge South station, announced today:
“This is really disappointing news. The station is expected to serve around 1.8 million passengers a year. Its opening has already been delayed by several months — meaning more than a million journeys will now not be made by train, with many instead made by car. Residents in my area had been really excited about the station opening soon - and it’s just been dashed - again. Despite the government’s declared priority for infrastructure projects, for this reason or that they seem simply unable to do projects like this well."
